Unit Chief, Noncommunicable Diseases
The incumbent is responsible for coordinating, managing and directing the Organization’s program of work on noncommunicable diseases. The incumbent is responsible for the overall leadership of a team of professional and administrative staff, as well as the planning, implementation and monitoring of plans, strategies, innovations and resources related to the Organization’s Strategic Plan and PAHO’s mandates and policies on management of NCDs.
The successful candidate will have:
• A university degree in a health, biological or social science discipline and a master’s degree in public health or related discipline from a recognized institution. • Thirteen years of combined national and international progressively responsible experience in management of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including the detection, diagnosis, treatment and control of NCDs, development and evaluation of policies and programs for prevention, and control of chronic diseases and disabilities. Experience must also include the application of epidemiological methods to disease surveillance and public health program planning and evaluation. • Very good knowledge of English or Spanish with a working knowledge of the other language.
Salary range: US$ 123,438.49 - US$ 135,040.59, net of income taxes. PAHO/WHO’s
