Work Schedule:Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Functional Statement Title/#:Physician (Psychiatrist)
The incumbent serves as a Staff Psychiatrist, carrying an outpatient prescriber caseload in an interdisciplinary Mental Health Clinic setting on the Leeds VA Central Western MA Healthcare System main campus. Inpatient units & Urgent Care (coverage only when necessary)

Citizenship: Citizen of the United States
Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are:
(1) Schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.
(2) Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year inwhich the degree was granted.
(3) Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted licensure.
Licensure: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Residency Training
Physicians must have completed residency training or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. (NOTE: VA Physicians involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty status.) Approved residencies are:
(1) Those approved by the accrediting bodies for graduate medical education, the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA), in the list published for the year the residency was completed, or
(2) Other residencies or their equivalents which the local Professional Standards Board determines to have provided an applicant with appropriate professional training.
Experience with combat-related PTSD and Addictions; adult outpatient mental health experience, belief in the Mission of VA, willingness to supervise Resident physicians from UMASS.
