The Data Management Architect possess technical expertise to support the business goals and objectives for the Data Management and Analytics Division, the Information Management Organization, and the organization as a whole.
Candidate must have extensive technical knowledge and experience in multiple core Data Management technology areas along with strong planning and analytical skills. The Data Management Architect is responsible for MS SQL Server data platform architecture, design and development of data models & ETL consisting of multiple technologies.
Key functions include composing solutions and platform architecture design and maintenance through collaboration with other Data Warehouse Architects, ETL and Master Data Management Architects, Metadata & Data Integration specialists, Business Analysts and ETL team members. Candidate will resolve complex data design issues, provide optimal solutions that meet business requirements, benefits system performance as well as provide administrative support of the MS SQL Server databases. This includes the integration and design of existing MS SQL data sources into the Data Lake and Enterprise Data Warehouse as well as the ETL platforms.
Candidate will contribute to the Enterprise Data Architecture, Data Quality, and Master Data Management HUB data model expansion as needed within the Data Management and Analytics team.
Candidate must have solid working knowledge of various philosophies related to design and development of warehouse and Hub architectures, development of data integration packages and design and development of logical & physical data models.
Candidate will work with various technical resources across the department to facilitate the development of standards and procedures. Must have the communication skills and ability to develop and present solutions to all levels of management, including executive levels. The Data Management Architect participates in requirements gathering, discovery, and interfacing with technical and business teams -- establishes credibility in terms of experience, presentation and leadership of solutions development. The Data Management Architect evaluates proposed new systems and system changes and additions, provides oversight into the decision process, and participates in project implementation.
Assists in the development of the information system vision and strategy of the organization; Translate business processes and requirements into conceptual, logical and physical data models in collaboration with multiple delivery teams and ensure consistency and adherence to CHRISTUS Health and industry standards
Evaluates proposed system acquisitions and provides critical input to the decision-making relative to compatibility, cost, resource requirements, operations, and maintenance; develops plans and recommendations to improve the performance and efficiency of MS SQL Server Warehouses and Data Management platforms.
Participates in development of standards, design and implementation of proactive processes to collect and report data and statistics on assigned systems; performs research and testing to verify impact and advisability of system installations; assists in development vendor support relationships
Manage the administration, configuration and support of the SQL Server databases, including ETL, Master Data Management Data HUB, ETL repositories and related systems.
Coordinates with the development teams to tune and develop physical data models.
Analyze and mine Data as needed to provide solutions.
MS SQL Server Administration and optimization through performance tuning/ testing, monitoring and troubleshooting.
Establish and enforce security procedures and practices using LDAP.
Responsible for storage space optimization, high availability and overall DB platform stability
Assist in implementing maintenance and backup schedules.
Provide DB expertise and mentoring to other Integration teams.
Work with Enterprise Bus development teams to establish upstream and downstream connections for transactional application interfaces.
Assist with creating and configuring automation for monitoring and problem alerts.
Lead projects in the Agile methodology and present results in determined 'sprint' timelines to the VP of Data Management and Analytics.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or related field preferred, or eight (8) years of relevant experience required.
Extensive hands-on technical knowledge of Data Warehouse Architecture, Master Data Management, Data Modeling, ETL, Database & SQL query performance tuning.

Eight (8) years of Database Architecture/Administration experience in large corporate systems environments working with enterprise MS SQL Server data warehouse environment.
5-7 years of proven Data Architecture experience and platform support
5 years of MS SQL Server experience and hands on experience in database and SQL performance tuning, stored procedures and functions
Must have at least 3 years of experience in designing & developing logical & physical data modeling
3-5 years of strong ETL development experience
3-5 years of proven analytical and data mining experience
1 year Master Data Management experience
Informatica Master Data Management 360 experience a plus
