We are recruiting for a Managed Care Data Analyst to join our Hospital Division in Louisville, KY.
This position is responsible for providing data integration, financial modeling, and analytical support to the Managed Care Department in all managed care contracting and revenue growth initiatives. This includes data extraction, development of financial modeling processes, creating reports and custom outputs, evaluating data and process integrity, thorough analysis and making recommendations for improvement. Responsible for providing data and analytical support to guide payor reimbursement recommendations, prepare financial studies, evaluations and analyses. Assists with development of payor and market-specific pricing and analysis for Kindred Healthcare service lines.
This role also supports managed care negotiators, hospital operations, and physician operations across the enterprise by providing analysis of current and projected managed care contract yield, evaluation of predictive models with actual results, and benchmarking analyses to support strategic pricing and volume growth initiatives. Also supports Managed Care with data and analytical needs in strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting managed care revenues, contract modeling, volume and service-line analysis, financial analysis, ad hoc reporting, etc.
Create complex data integration processes to support analytics for Managed Care and Line of Business efforts
Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality using a variety of statistical programming software
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Filter and ‘clean’ data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
Report and analyze key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
Thorough understanding and proficiency in contract modeling using the Managed Care contract modeling software
Assist Managed Care contracting staff with the financial performance analysis of Managed Care contracts
Analyze complex information and reports to provide accurate in-depth analysis and timely recommendations to Managed Care and operational leaders for decision-making in both written and oral presentations
Produce the necessary Managed Care reports and data analysis for budgeting, revenue forecasting, strategic planning and modeling tools
Preparation of monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reports and analysis
High level of accuracy and precision; highly organized.
Productivity in the timely and efficient generation of reports and analyses within a demanding workload.
Solid interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment with all levels.
Understanding of health management policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements and insistence on such compliance by others.
Develops working knowledge understanding of Managed Care contract standards, negotiation process, contract management, etc.
Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated.
Master's degree in computer science, information management, accounting, economics, business, or related field requiring strong skills in quantitative analysis
5+ years in healthcare data integration, managed care analytics (payor or provider), healthcare analytics, healthcare reimbursement
3+ years with experience in source-to-target mapping, data change management, data lineage analysis, data quality analysis, metadata management, data controls (may be concurrent)
Expert in financial analysis
Prior experience with sophisticated modeling and financial reporting tools
Expert level knowledge of MS Access, MS Excel and familiarity with SQL Server
Thorough knowledge of SAS or comparable analytics software
