he Accounts Payable Supervisor works closely and collaboratively with the Regional Controller of the Accounting Services department; supervises all accounts payable related accounting processes of the Region; supervises the accounts payable team of four AP Specialists; supervises all functions and responsibilities surrounding the monthly and annual accounts payable cycle; completes all required work papers associated with accounts payable for the annual audit; works directly with auditors with regard to accounts payable testing; prepares tax and government reporting (including 1099's) related to vendor payments; serves as the primary point of contact for department managers on all accounts payable related issues; serves as a primary point of contact for CHRISTUS HEALTH on all accounts payable related inquiries from system office; reviews accounts payable reports for accuracy; coordinates the accounts payable interface between Image Now and the Infor (Lawson) accounting system; ensures that all accounts payable deadlines are met in a timely and accurate manner; manages the resolution of vendor related inquiries and issues that may arise; maintains and creates all accounts payable related spreadsheet analyses as assigned; keeps accounts payable information confidential, filed, and organized; ensures prompt and accurate payment of all hospital and medical group liabilities; works closely with the Accounting General Ledger team to ensure financials properly reflect all monthly expenses through accurate and timely payable accruals; ensures all vendors have an up-to-date and accurate W-9's on file; and, performs all other miscellaneous duties as assigned by CHRISTUS management team.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Some college desirable.
SKILLS: Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with others. Strong proficiency in electronic spreadsheets (Excel) and word processing programs. Computer literate. Proficient in use of a calculator by touch. Excellent typing skills. Understanding of the use of copier/fax/scanner, check printing and sealing machines. Excellent analytic and problem solving skills. Capable of proactive, articulate, effective, and positive communication to team members and customers.
EXPERIENCE: Five years Accounts Payable experience to include hands-on supervision of personnel.
