Job Summary The IT Applications Trainer supports the training program in their application(s), may create and update training curricula, and facilitates end user training. In addition, the Applications Trainer will deliver classroom training and at the elbow support for end users of the EMR system and software applications throughout the health system.
Coordinates and facilitates training classes, which includes the set up and break down of training classes, supply inventory and obtaining supplies needed for training classes. Consistently administers a proficiency assessment and class evaluation at the end of each training session. Forwards ideas for improvement of the training to the assigned IT Applications Principal Trainer and/or IT Sr. Applications Trainer. Conducts a variety of learning opportunities for end users. Looks for ways to maximize training time and overall training experience for end users.
Supports the development, updates and modifications of training materials including tip sheets, checklists, playground exercises and competencies in their application(s). Maintains working relationships with IT analysts to collaborate, coordinate change mgmt. and communication to customers. Regularly attends department and team meetings and is an active participant.
Maintains job role based workflow knowledge to provide meaningful end user training. Job shadows in department to maintain knowledge and to build relationships with customer. Keeps current on application changes and assists with updating training materials to reflect changes. Assists with testing and QA process.
Creates and updates eLearning courses. Works closely with department leaders and staff to review and approve content delivery.
Provides "at the elbow" ongoing support for new providers/physicians and other end users after initial training.
Assists with the building and updating of the training environments.
Performs other duties as assigned.
