We are recruiting for a Senior Network Engineer to join our Information Systems Department in Louisville, Kentucky .
Kindred Healthcare is the largest post-acute healthcare provider in the United States. The Kindred network team designs, implements and supports the networks that our healthcare facilities and branch offices rely upon for clinical and business applications. The team is based in the Kindred data center in Louisville, KY and team members have the flexibility to work 20% or more from their home offices. We're looking for a network engineer to join our team that will specialize in the design and support of our wireless networks.
Manage Cisco and Meraki Wireless and ISE infrastructure.
Maintain network equipment lifecycle of wireless controllers, including software upgrades, licensing management, and hardware refresh.
Stay in tune with industry security and technology best practices, and work with the team to update Kindred wireless strategy and standards accordingly.
Provide wireless network design recommendations for branch offices.
Create and update wireless implementation and support documentation for network and support teams.
Participate in other network team projects and tasks as assigned.
In the coming year, the team will be involved in the following projects. The team member joining in this role may be involved in some or all of these projects:
Telemedicine implementation at hospitals, including Cisco wireless network expansion.
Continued implementation of Cisco ISE for wireless networks, and begin expansion to wired networks
Begin evaluation, pilot, and implementation of micro segmentation in the data center.
Continue implementation, support, and expansion of hybrid cloud connectivity solutions to include Azure and AWS.
The following are common tasks performed by Kindred Network engineers:
Support migration of branch offices from Cisco to Meraki wireless.
Design and support Cisco and Meraki wireless networks.
Support implementation teams in branch office network moves, upgrades, and integrations.
Configure and manage routers, switches & firewalls.
Manage MPLS and broadband circuits for remote facilities.
Measure and diagnose network performance using tools such as Cisco Stealthwatch, Orion Network Performance Monitor and Network Configuration manager.
Analyze network traces to identify root cause of performance issues, and implement corrective actions.
Participate with teams in network planning and design, and document network architecture, standards, and procedures.
Participate in the ongoing development of network strategy.
Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
At least three years recent experience in a position where primary responsibilities included Cisco wireless network support in an enterprise environment.
Ability to work multiple concurrent projects in a fast paced environment.
Experience supporting branch offices with MPLS, broadband, and VPN connections.
Some experience using Python or other scripting tools.
