Reporting to the Compensation Manager, the Compensation Analyst assists with the development, implementation and administration of compensation practices; identifies opportunities for improvement to Compensation policies and practices and makes recommendations to the Compensation Manager.
Monitors and audits pay practices to ensure compliance with policies, guidelines, and wage and hour laws.
Conducts job analysis, conducts benchmark reviews and market price jobs.
Develops, reviews and updates job descriptions. Conducts FLSA Assessments. Participates in Compensation Surveys.
Reviews Common Law Questionnaires to determine the accurate classification based on IRS guidelines.
Utilizes performance management system and addresses any performance management compensation issues that arise.
Assists the Sr. Manager or Compensation Analyst with the coordination of compensation projects that impact a specific entity or all LLUH entities.
Performs other duties as needed.
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required.
Minimum two years of Human Resources experience or minimum one year of Compensation experience required, preferably in Higher Education or Healthcare.
General understanding and knowledge of wage and hour laws and compensation practices.
Demonstrates general understanding of PeopleSoft and Performance Management Systems.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
Valid California Driver's license required.
Able to: write legibly; communicate in English with professional quality; use computer, calculator, printer, and word processing, spreadsheet and database software programs necessary to the position. Strong problem solving, communication and presentation skills.
Able to: relate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach and collaborate; accept direction. Must be well organized and confident to work independently, but is a strong team player. Strong problem solving, communication and presentation skills.
Able to: distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associate with the workplace. Must be able to see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to the position.
