This position will have primary responsibility for working with Supply Chain leadership and other Banner departments, including but not limited to: Compliance, Finance, Internal audit, Legal, and Risk to assure the effectiveness of internal controls for Banners end-to-end Supply Chain. The incumbent will develop dashboards to monitor the effectiveness of the Internal Controls and will work collaboratively with Supply Chain leadership to ensure consistent risk assessment, audit approaches, and reporting to provide high level support for the oversight of the internal control environment including the tracking and reporting of findings and mitigation plans. Must maintain an awareness of the business regarding audit methodology, internal controls, risks, and stay abreast of all new technologies available, including but not limited to: Vendor Vetting and Vendor Master Controls, Supplier Audits, PO Audits, Segregation of Duties, Purchasing Card Transactions and Administrative Controls, Theft Identification and Prevention, Inventory Valuation and Policies and Procedures.
Assists leadership in the process of assessing organizational controls and risk management.
Prepares and updates a comprehensive risk-based audit plan for evaluating the effectiveness of controls in place to manage significant risk exposures, ensure the integrity and reliability of information, safeguard companys assets, and compliance with laws and regulations.
Coordinates, plans, and executes audits by working with leaders and appropriate staff to develop audit programs that document, assess, and monitor controls over risks.
Manages the relationship with external auditors and consultants to ensure an effective audit process. Works collaboratively with Banners independent auditors and management to ensure a system of effective controls that can be relied upon for audit assurance purposes.
Identifies, understands and documents processes and procedures surrounding internal controls. Continually monitors and updates the assessment of the control environment, keeping abreast of significant control issues, trends and developments. Provides support to external financial, compliance, and operational auditors in the performance of the audits they have been engaged to perform.
Develops and manages a process to monitor managements progress in addressing risks and related action plans. Identifies and assesses fraud risks and assists in the design of anti-fraud criteria and controls.
Assists leadership with process improvement planning and execution.
Must possess a strong knowledge of business and/or healthcare internal audit as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting/finance, or health care related field.
Five years experience with a public accounting firm or corporate industry experience with a heavy emphasis on supply chain internal controls, financial and accounting operational controls preferred. Requires comprehensive knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to health care supply chain, regulatory compliance, information systems, auditing practices, procedures and principles. Must possess strong planning skills and problem-solving skills. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with leadership team and federal and state governing bodies. Must also possess highly effective negotiating skills to communicate and interact with others.
