We are recruiting for a Lacuna Health Summer Fellow to join Lacuna Health in Louisville, KY.
Become a part of the new and growth focused Lacuna Health, a dynamic group of talented people with a mission to create and provide innovative products and solutions that fuel business transformation and affect organizational change at Kindred Healthcare and the post-acute care industry.
The Lacuna Health Fellow will hold a unique role within the organization as they will combine their academic knowledge with real world problems to develop workable solutions. Temporary relocation to the Lacuna Health office in Louisville, KY will be required.
Support the ongoing establishment of Lacuna Health, a separate "Care Management Solutions’ company, that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kindred Healthcare.
Work with existing staff on a variety of projects that could include:
National competitive analysis of companies, including key markets
Analysis of national health care markets based on size and location
Sizing and inventory of Medicare Shared Savings Program ACO's
Sizing and inventory of insurance companies in potential markets, including number of lives covered and length of time in market
External risk and opportunity analysis for Lacuna
Staffing availability for key positions including RNs and LPNs
Potential partner companies review
Assists in ongoing development of (1) business plan, (2) overall product strategy, (3) business solutions, (4) value propositions, (5) budget, (6) business model, (7) potential return on investment (ROI).
Works closely with teammates across Kindred divisions and cross functional teams and develops positive working relationships with these colleagues.
Supports and manages special projects as assigned.
Knowledge of current trends in healthcare and emerging/evolving technologies in the post-acute and home-based care markets.
Possesses a learning mindset with strong intellectual curiosity.
Superior communication skills with high creativity, energy, integrity, thoughtful judgment and decision making.
Highly motivated, self starter with the ability to adapt to change and exercise initiative when needed in a fast paced environment.
Strong computer skills including Excel and Power Point.
Ability to utilize databases and software to collect, maintain, manipulate and present data for use in practical application to business problems and situations.
Aptitude to read, analyze and interpret professional and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
MBA or MHA required. Bachelor's degree with MBA or MHA in progress is also acceptable.
2+ years work experience in healthcare or healthcare related field demonstrating the ability to complete complex and thoughtful work.
