Job Description If you’re a smart, high-energy operations leader that is seeking a new fast-paced challenge, we invite you to consider joining the blood collections leadership team in our Northeast Biomedical Services group. As a Director of Mobile Collections Operations, your responsibilities will include managing activities for one or more collections related departments to ensure achievement of assigned collection goals and quality and process improvement initiatives.
Departmental objectives for multi-district territory primarily covering New York state (Albany, NYC/Long Island, Binghamton, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse)
Enhancing staff engagement and donor satisfaction
Implementing process improvements (within national framework) to meet annual collection volume goals
Improving overall quality trends/metrics
Optimizing staffing and deployment policies to improve collections cost effectiveness
Education - bachelor’s degree in business management, communications, nursing or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Master's degree preferred
Management - Minimum seven years related operations management experience including five years of department and supervisory experience required. Prior experience managing unionized staff a plus
Industry - Prior blood collections/FDA-regulated experience desired but not required – must be able to quickly learn Red Cross nuances/lingo/mission & demonstrate strong leadership abilities
Location & Travel - Financial relocation assistance may be available if selected candidate does not currently reside in the assigned territory. Anticipating at least 50% travel, more if not based in a dense collections area
