Shift Information: Day Job
- Oversee the Compliance function at Akron Children’s Hospital (“ACH”) and all of its operations including its subsidiaries Children’s Home Care Group and the Akron Children’s Hospital Foundation.
- Possesses knowledge on existing and proposed laws and regulations that may affect ACH’s clinical and business practices.
- Develops written policies and procedures that establish standards for compliance, coordinate the development of education and training programs related to compliance issues.
- Investigates reports of alleged violations of the organization’s compliance policies.
- Facilitates and supports interpretation and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and laws and regulations applicable to health care providers including hospitals, physicians, APPs, home care and charitable organizations.
- Builds and implements an overall Hospital-wide compliance framework.
- Serves as the privacy officer overseeing ACH’s compliance with HIPAA.
- Works with IT on protecting the privacy and security of health information.
- Monitors compliance risk strategies and independently trouble shoots problems, while providing sound advice.
- Ensures the Board of Directors, senior leadership and management understand and adhere to regulatory and other compliance management requirements.
- Manages Hospital’s hotline.
- Develops and keeps abreast of latest compliance developments with respect to regulatory bodies and ensures compliance with laws, rules and regulations.
- Prepares reports to the Board and Audit Committee and Senior Leadership relating to the Hospital’s Compliance activities.
