The Practice Administrator, Digestive Health Center, leads the nationally-ranked gastroenterology service line at UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital. Our practice includes a 17-room endoscopy lab and a busy outpatient clinic. Our providers treat the full range of gastrointestinal disorders and diseases, and conduct procedures ranging from routine colonoscopies to complex interventional therapies. Our service line includes several subspecialty practices, including the Crohn’s and Colitis Center and the Metabolic and Bariatric Endoscopy Program.
Executes departmental goals, standards, and objectives, which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
Partners with medical directors in a “dyad” structure to lead the strategy and operations of the service line. Works closely with CU School of Medicine faculty leadership to align objectives and execute improvements.
Directs the GI leadership team, with direct supervision of the nurse manager, clinical nurse coordinator, and supervisor of clinic office operations. Indirectly supervises the entire GI team of 100 employees, including nurses, technicians, medical assistants, and patient access representatives.
Leads staff relations including performance management, employee experience, and conflict management. Mentors and develops managers and supervisors. Oversees staff and provider scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
Develops departmental budgets, ensures regulatory compliance, oversees departmental contracts, and communicates with vendors. Determines and justifies needs for systems, supplies, and technology. Develops justification for capital equipment and new programs in conjunction with hospital and faculty leadership.
Enhances quality standards, patient access, and patient experience.
Drives growth and innovation initiatives, including new service offerings.
Coordinates with departments throughout the hospital, health system, and CU School of Medicine.
3 years of healthcare leadership experience
Master’s degree in healthcare, business, or related area
Gastroenterology or other procedural leadership experience
