Provides the necessary functions to coordinate the audit of accounts being submitted on the Medicare Cost Report. This position executes and performs programs to insure efficient operations of the Geisinger Health System Revenue Management program in order to generate sufficient cash flow to support GHS operations and strategic initiatives. In the position of Revenue Management Cost Report Auditor, responsibilities include assembling and formatting the listings of encounters to be reviewed; ensuring the audit is adhering to the Medicare Cost Report rules and regulations; working with various departments to gather related policies; working with Finance during audits; and ensuring all documentation is present in the Imaging database.
Reports to the Revenue Management Supervisor or the Revenue Management Manager.
Competencies and Skills:
Demonstrates a strong working knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and other third party billing requirements including HCPCS, ICD9, HIPAA and medical terminology.
Demonstrates strong presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to many different audience levels.
Demonstrates familiarity with multiple computerized applications (i.e. Siemens, IDX, Tower, Contract Manager, Cadence, Epic, Electronic Medical Health Record, ePremise, NaviNet, Artiva, etc.).
Demonstrates ability to meet standards set forth for both productivity and quality of work.
Demonstrates at a minimum intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Excel, including vlookup formula and pivot table analysis.
Education and or Experience:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of three years relevant experience in a healthcare setting to include third party insurance training, credit and collection experience with a solid knowledge of insurance cover (Managed Care, Worker’s Compensation and No-Fault) required.
Minimum of two years as Revenue Management Specialist required.
