Responsible for providing care in an atmosphere sensitive to each persons physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs with respect to the beliefs and values of co-workers, patients and their families. Functions in the spirit of teamwork and is accountable for the delivery of care utilizing those skills learned in both the clinical and didactic arena. Assists surgeon with procedures related to the care of patients of all ages during surgical intervention.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the GMC OSW.
Accountable to the Registered Nurse and OR Clinical Nurse Supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Graduation from an accredited school of ORT required to acquire knowledge and technical skills to operate, set up and maintain equipment in the care unit required.
Minimum of one year previous operating experience required.
BLS certification preferred. Required within 60 days of employment
Basic computer skills required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Extensive periods of standing and walking are involved. Work is performed in a clean, well-ventilated, well-equipped environment with possible exposure to patients with infectious diseases or to bodily fluids which may contain infectious agents as well as anesthetics, radiation, and chemicals.
Adhere to dress code. Appearance is neat and clean. Reports to work on time and as scheduled. Wears ID badge while on duty. Completes timecard honestly and accurately. Limits lunch and breaks to scheduled time and maintains flexibility to allow coverage and efficiency within the GMC/OSW.
