The five-story, 143-bed hospital is located on a 98-acre campus in College Station. A four-story medical office building, is also located on the campus adjacent to the hospital. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – College Station is a nationally accredited Chest Pain Center and Level III Trauma Center, having demonstrated expertise and ability to effectively treat patients experiencing chest pain, heart attack or traumatic injury.
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Brenham is a 60-bed acute care hospital in Brenham, Texas, serving the citizens of Washington, Austin, Burleson, Colorado, Fayette, Grimes, Lee and Waller counties. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and is designated a Level 4 general trauma center.
The Director of Surgical Services – College Station Region ensures Nursing services in the Surgical Services department are rendered in efficient and professional manner. This role will lead the surgical services operations for our hospitals in College Station and Brenham, Texas. Develops departmental policies, procedures, budget, and standards of care. Develop, secure approval of and administer department policies, procedures, and budget; monitor and take corrective action to prevent deviations. This role will be responsible for strategic growth of surgical volumes for the facility as well as the ongoing development of strong relationships with surgeons.
Reporting to the Regional Chief Nursing Officer, the Director of Surgical Services ensures Nursing services in Surgical Services Department are rendered in efficient and professional manner. Develops departmental policies, procedures, budget, and standards of care.
Develop, secure approval of and administer department policies, procedures, and budget; monitor and take corrective action to prevent deviations.
Prepare various departmental statistical reports to be submitted to Administration (services performed broken down by type of procedure, amount of time per case, C-Sections and call back). Inpatients and Outpatients.
Ensure adherence to quality assurance in accordance with departmental standards.
Attend meetings and workshops to keep abreast of changes in techniques and/or products.
Interview, hire, train, evaluate, counsel, develop and terminate subordinate personnel.
Schedule adequate staff to ensure efficient, effective, and safe nursing care is provided.
