The Senior Payroll Accountant is responsible for posting monthly payroll entries to all general ledger facilities, preparing journal entries, and preparing account reconciliations for all payroll tax liability accounts. This position is also responsible for preparing payroll journal entries and assisting with any questions relating to said journal entries. Additional duties will include researching and responding to payroll general ledger interface questions and assisting the Payroll Accounting Manager as needed.
Major Areas of Responsibilities:
Ensure accuracy of posting monthly payroll entries in general ledger
Preparing journal entries and assisting in month end payroll close
Clearing suspense entries for all corporate suspense accounts in the general ledger
Account reconciliations of payroll tax liabilities
Research and special projects as assigned
Miscellaneous requests as needed
Bachelorï¿½s degree preferably with a major in Accounting
Minimum of 3-5 years progressive accounting experience
Strong analytical and communication skills
Strong computer skills required, including intermediate skills in Excel
