The Director, System Communications conceptualizes and implements the System's communications strategy in support of building brand equities. Works to achieve the prospect, new patient and market share goals as well as maximizing return on investment (ROI). Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of integrated communication initiatives in support of BayCare's goals. Leads the Communications Team in developing multi-communication strategies and plans to drive growth of BayCare brand and core service lines of business. Provides strategic communication counsel to system and hospital leaders, providing insight into communication strategies for all audiences. Works collaboratively across the BayCare System and in MarComm to build brand equity, as well as implement marketing and communication initiatives. Identifies and creates efficiencies in communication. Organizes and directs the communication policies and programs to develop and maintain public and team member interest, reputation, understanding, and goodwill towards the System. Administers policies covering the broad field of communications, including the dissemination of public and team member information, coordination of messages to all audiences and issues management. Serves as BayCare spokesperson, media trains, and prepares appropriate organizational representative for media opportunities. Must demonstrate the ability to work with cross-functional teams across the System to deliver marketing programs and promotions that generate ROI, awareness, and interest with targeted market segments.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, or a related area, along with 7 years of experience managing teams. Additional requirements include strategic thinking skills, ability to manage multiple communication and branding priorities while influencing constituencies, and executing projects on a timely basis. Understanding how teams work and leading them are paramount in this position. Master’s degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration or related area preferred.
