The Strategic Insights Analyst - Associate performs data analysis and research, in support of planning functions and strategic growth initiatives across the organization. The Associate Analyst works as a member of the Strategy & Market Advancement team to create analytically rigorous, actionable insights that drive business decision-making. Reports to the Supervisor, Strategic Insights and collaborates with Physician Relations, Business Development, and Strategic Planning Consultants in analysis and business planning for new initiatives.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates healthcare experience, with emphasis on business analytics and market assessment skills.
Demonstrates analytical, problem solving, strategic thinking, critical thinking, decision modeling and organizational skills.
Demonstrates knowledge of Finance, including understanding of basic financial analysis principles.
Demonstrates proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access. Proficiency with dashboard reporting software and data query tools (Tableau, Business Objects, AltoSoft, and/or SQL) is desirable but not required.
Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment.
Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to produce examples of written reports.
Demonstrates ability to prepare and present high level presentations. Must be able to produce examples of presentations and related support materials.
Demonstrates people skills, including ability and comfort with developing external contacts for information collection and benchmarking.
Demonstrates the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrates ability to adapt to all co-workers, management styles, and direction
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field required. Minimum of one year related professional experience required.
MBA or MHA preferred.
Healthcare industry knowledge, as exemplified by working knowledge of DRG's and ICD-9 codes, service lines, and specialty medicine required.
Extensive experience in Health Care Strategic Planning or consumer marketing research will be considered.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Due to fluid nature and visibility of the department’s work, flexible work hours are required.
