Responsible for supporting Geisinger’s system benchmarking product (ActionOI) for all Geisinger platforms. This includes quarterly data collection and submission, as well as reporting and analysis of operational efficiency, workload service intensity and labor productivity.
Supports the overall quality of the benchmarking activity and works to support Geisinger’s operational strategy focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, access to care and growth initiatives.
Reports to the Liaison ActionOI and collaborates with operations managers, platform management, and external third party vendors.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*1. Serves as a support resource for ActionOI, an operational benchmarking software. Extracts financial and statistical data from various sources, inputs and validates data submission and audits. Assists in data mapping, normalization parameters and departmental comparison group definitions.
*2. Develop benchmark scorecards, trend and variance reports that can be used to identify opportunities for performance improvement. Defines and organizes data against established benchmarks and identifies and recommends changes as appropriate to designated system leaders.
*3. Identifies opportunities to enhance data and/or processes maintained by ActionOI brought about by internal (i.e. new clinical documentation system) and/or external factors (i.e., governmental/regulatory). Assists in the planning and execution of necessary changes with Kaufman Hall, Decision Support systems and ActionOI end users.
*4. Supports the Kaufman Hall labor productivity process using established procedures and ActionOI. Maintains a master service code file, collects and submits departmental statistics, and generates labor productivity reports on a bi-weekly basis.
*5. Supports quarterly reporting preparation, submission and distribution to system leaders. Assists in the educational process around interpreting results to improve performance and advance toward high reliability outcomes and processes.
*6. Improves/automates data collection, consolidates data collection avenues and streamlines quarterly ActionOI submission process.
*7. Develops and maintains policies, procedures and standards and actively analyzes workflows. Secures and maintains an advanced level of software and mainframe knowledge of all data systems used by Geisinger that affect this position. This includes but is not limited to downloaded, uploading and ad-hoc reporting skills in all relevant systems.
*8. Assists with proactive communication and education to all platform leadership teams. Supports leadership teams with projects as needed.
9. Performs any other related duties and functions as requested by designated leaders including exercising decision making authority in the absence of the aforementioned leaders.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related business field required. Minimum of five years of accounting, auditing, or relevant financial experience required.
Master’s degree Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related business field required. Minimum of three years of accounting, auditing, or relevant financial experience required.
Benchmarking experience preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Some travel will be required.
