Rush University Medical Center presents an exciting opportunity for an Executive Director, Rush Health. The Executive Director is responsible for managing Rush University System for Health (RUSH)’s Physician Hospital Organization/Clinically Integrated Network (CIN), Rush Health. Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, RUSH as well as working very closely with the Chief Executive Officer, RUSH. The Executive Director, Rush Health is responsible for developing and managing programs which promote and strengthen quality initiatives and clinical integration between the participating members of Rush Health. Additionally, this role is responsible for creating and implementing business products and strategies which highlight RUSH’s commitment to clinical excellence. The Executive Director, Rush Health serves as the internal expert on payor and provider relations as well as contracting matters.

Develops and executes a successful business unit integration and associated transition strategy into RUSH.
Leads employees through successful integration efforts and associated cultural assimilation into RUSH.
Provides strategic leadership, ongoing mentorship and guidance to the Rush Health leadership team as well as employees at all levels of the organization.
Builds effective working relationships with applicable internal organization stakeholders fostering a high level of collaboration.
Development of the strategic direction for Rush Health, aligning it with market demands, strategic opportunities, and the strategic plans of RUSH.
Translate the CIN strategy into an operational plan and successfully delivering on the execution.
Develop, implement and manage innovative and collaborative clinical and administrative programs ensuring effective contracting strategies and payor relations.
Develop, implement, and manage, quality and care management initiatives that focus on process and outcomes (e.g. population health, disease management, wellness, patient education, “pay for performance”, utilization management, and transparency).
Develop and implement pricing, contracting strategies and business development programs/services that support RUSH and Rush Health goals.
In collaboration with RUSH’s analytics team, develops and implements comprehensive analytical systems and processes that support contracting and clinical performance improvement activities, ensure internal and payor compliance with contract terms, and track contract performance.
Manages relationships with payors, employers and brokers.
Required Position Qualifications Include:
Master’s degree in healthcare, business administration or related field.
Ten plus years of experience working in healthcare.
Ten years of experience leading successful care management programs.
Ten years of management experience with demonstrated success in meeting financial and strategic goals.
Prior experience successfully leading and managing teams in a change environment.
Experience leading a significant transformation of an organization’s culture and approach.
Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work collaboratively.
Collaborative approach with executive leadership and the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams to meet goals and improve organizational performance.
Proven track record of maintaining the highest standards of performance, quality, credibility, and integrity.
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make decisions quickly and independently.
Extraordinary professional discretion in the handling of highly confidential clinical and financial data.
Preferred Position Qualifications Include:
Ability to generate and encourage creative ideas, innovative thinking, and imaginative solutions to issues or problems.
A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats and a willingness to work alongside a team in a hard-working environment.
Experience working in a multi-facility health system or large academic medical center.
Experience working within an insurer environment.
Experience with physician practice setting and physician practice management.
