The Director of Data and Analytics is an organizational leader with a passion for data and analysis, who has a clear vision for how data can transform company strategy. The role requires hands on leadership and is responsible for scaling the data function in a hybrid environment. The director must consider global operations and be able to manage a remote, geographically dispersed team.
Drive the scope and effectiveness of the data and analysis function at Tenet.
Drive integration of company wide data into a centralized single data lake and modeled to support data analysis requirements from all functional groups
Work with the product, operations, and executive management teams to create a data enabled user journey.
Create and execute a plan for migration of the on-premise data warehouse into the cloud
Collaborate with all functions of the company to ensure data needs are addressed and the required data is modeled and available to analysts and end-users.
Build a multi-modal service model that meets the non-homogeneous needs of our functional groups -- Full-service to Self-Service, and across our data stack.
Work with product, operations and executive management to maintain a holistic vision of the future of data, and help leadership plan for any changes in our data strategy or needs.
Responsible to set and maintain the data governance strategy across the company.
Leads and manages Agile data engineering teams responsible for implementing enterprise data platform technology assets in accordance with internal roadmap
Conducts reviews of new projects or enhancements to ensure that development work conforms with architectural standards. Monitor and incorporate industry innovations
Collaborate with analytics leaders across the organization to drive Data and Analytics awareness throughout the enterprise, to drive Tenet to a data driven enterprise
Create a master data mgmt and governance strategy to establish single source of truth
Bachelorsï¿½ degree from an accredited college/university in business related or technology related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
10+ years of experience in information technology
8+ years of Data Modeling experience. Delivering both logical models and physical designs. MPP technologies preferred.
8+ years of Advanced SQL Coding/Tuning Experience in one or more of the following: Netezza, SQL server or Oracle.
2+ years of experience in a healthcare environment, preferable provider.
Knowledge of healthcare industry and working with various billing, registration and EMRs is strongly preferable.
Possesses sound analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. Assignments may be complex in nature and modifications may be broader than the application itself. Must have the ability to think creatively and incorporate current technical solutions with the end user in mind. Assigned projects may be complex in nature and impact more than one system application
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with SQL and stored procedures in Microsoft, Oracle or Netezza
Experience with MDM and EMPI tools is preferred
Understanding of Data Management/Metadata Management process and principles is essential.
Helps develop data warehouse and strategic direction for the department.
Defines and ensures standards for technology and business process are established
