The Business Continuity Manger, under the direction of the Emergency Management and Business Continuity Director, assists in the development and implementation of policies, plans and procedures that ensure Baylor Scott & White Health can respond to a disaster so business functions resume within a defined period and the amount of loss minimized. This responsibility includes assisting with the maintenance and exercising/testing of business continuity plans and procedures for critical functional areas; assessing implications of organizational changes; drafting revisions to plans and procedures for the review of the Emergency Management and Business Continuity Director; maintaining continuity program documentation; and assisting in establishing effective communication channels.
Below are the essential functions for the role.
Help plan and coordinate exercises involving business units and hospital departments annually, as well as when significant changes are made to any business unit or technical component of the business continuity plan.
Schedule, coordinate and assist in the impact analysis pre-planning for the business units to determine critical business processes, identify acceptable recovery time objectives, and in establishing resources required for successful resumption of business operations in the event of a disaster.
Serve as a research resource and coordinator for gathering information for (BSWH) incident response plans.
Coordinate and document the business continuity training for personnel for planning and recovery responsibilities; maintain a library of recovery support and business resumption procedures.
Ensure updates are made to plan or team assignments, new hires, terminations, and alternate site locations.
Assist IT disaster recovery projects with the IS team members and establish regular rapport and cadence of meeting/coordination that enhances the effectiveness of business continuity and disaster recovery.
The ideal candidate must have knowledge of business continuity planning techniques and technologies, major regulatory requirements and risks is essential for the role. The ideal candidate must have strong organizational, project management, verbal, written, presentation, human relations, Microsoft Office Suite and relational database skills. Certification in business continuity (CBCP, MBCP) or emergency management (CEM) is preferred.
