Summary:

Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and their families by providing therapeutic counseling; and assists the CTC team in developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating strategies which will enable the patient to access the needed medical and/or mental health care. Acts as liaison with other community resources, provides case management services when necessary to ensure patients receive appropriate care, assists staff and volunteers in understanding social and emotional factors affecting a patient and family during cancer treatment, and coordinates CTC community outreach programs.

Requirements:

• Masters in Social Work is required
• One year experience in medical social work or in a health-related agency, preferably in oncology
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or GSW actively pursuing licensure
