Work Hours/Shift: Full Time
Responsible for overall relationship between facility and all privileged medical staff providers (Physicians and Allied Health Professionals) at Florida Hospital Tampa. In conjunction with CMO, the Director will develop and implement strategies and processes necessary to engage physicians and allied health professionals to align with the culture of FHT/AHS. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: medical staff orientation, continuing medical education and library resources, physician events, oversight of MSO duties, and monitoring and recording of legal compliance ( Kickbacks, Starke, etc. ).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
In conjunction with CMO, will develop and facilitate medical staff orientation to include coordination of Cerner and facility resources to meet needs of medical staff.
Communicates and serves as liaison between hospital administration and medical staff, 24/7.
Oversees continual development of medical staff library; enhancing medical staff resources and education. Requests for research by the medical staff are responded to in timely and accurate manner.
Supports CMO with special projects as needed.
Oversight of MSO.
In conjunction with MSO and MSO Manager will continue development of: MSO policies and procedures; assisting with new provider credentialing, recredentialing and onboarding processes.
Works collaboratively with corporate compliance to monitor Starke compliance of medical staff.
Works collaboratively Administration to plan and facilitate physician events and engagement surveys.
Understanding of provider credentialing and Medical Staff Bylaws.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Working knowledge of MORRISEY software.
Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and public speaking (platform skills).
Ability to develop and sustain professional relationships and loyalty to the hospital as well as assisting in development of new referral sources.
Demonstrates initiative, poise, confidence and willingness to accept challenges.
Ability to travel between hospitals.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the position.
Must possess good time management skills and be customer and results-oriented.
Familiarity with hospital operations, language and roles.
Ability to verbally articulate hospital service line and product attributes.
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with physicians, employees, allied health providers and healthcare leadership; to actively listen and respond accordingly.
Demonstrated project and event management skills; elf-directed with an ability to oversee multiple projects/activities simultaneously.
Familiarity with knowledge base of medical staff services, principles, methods and procedures.
Proficient knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Access.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
Proficient knowledge of medical credentialing/privileges
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 2 years physician services experience..
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Master’s degree in related field
Greater than 3 years of physician services experience in a hospital setting.
