Directly responsible for supervising the payroll staff which includes oversight for all the payroll processing activities.
Directly responsible for processing and maintaining the executive payroll.
Utilizes independent judgement when providing guidance and support to the payroll staff for issue resolution, training, and coaching.
Establishes and maintains an interactive relationship with the Call Center Supervisor to ensure customer service goals are met by the payroll staff.
Responsible for the approval of the transmission of several key electronic interface files to third-party vendors.
Encourages the staff to engage in continuous improvement processes within Finance Shared Services. Responsible for documenting and implementing new process improvement ideas.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in accounting shared services management, attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
Available outside of normal business hours for support needs.
Assists the Tax Accounting Team with monthly reconciliation questions by researching payroll information as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
Serves as back up to the peer Supervisor as well as the Payroll Manager.
What You Will Need:
Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent degree from a four-year accredited university or 5 years related experience.
Minimum of five years of payroll experience required
Minimum of two years of supervisory experience required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office required (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Proficiency in PeopleSoft
The Payroll Supervisor is directly responsible for overseeing a team of payroll professionals in a shared services environment. Responsible for daily operations related to the accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, time and attendance activities, wage statements, garnishments, and overall daily staffing supervision.
