The Development Office is the bridge that links prospective and current donors with priority initiatives at MSK where donations of any size make an immediate and lasting difference for people with cancer.
We work closely with our MSK physicians, scientists, and colleagues across the Institution to inspire the individuals, families, friends, foundations, and companies who give to MSK. Because with donor support, MSK will continue to set the highest standard for cancer care worldwide.

Analytical and focused on data-driven decision-making
Report to the SVP, Development, manage day-to-day financial activities for the Development Department; lead a team that includes 3 Financial Analysts & 1 Budget Associate.
Control financial resources and ensure that all financial transactions, systems, and procedures comply with accounting principles.
Develop and manage internal financial audits.
Independently initiate, plan, develop, and implement assigned projects.
Lead the Departments annual budgeting process and ensure all financial and staffing requests are accurately provided to Finance.
Collaborate with senior management on budget variances and financial planning
Provide strategic recommendations on financial initiatives based on data, analysis, and previous lessons learned.
Provide in-depth financial analysis as needed for new program development, responding to outside inquiries, and strategic planning.
Manage the relationship with the Departments office building staff and provide necessary updates and information to the Department on evolving requirements and procedures when using the space.
A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Healthcare Administration.
At least 4 years of related financial management or budget experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, applicants with at least 8 years of relevant experience will be considered.
Development finance experience preferred.
Knowledge of fund management preferred
Healthcare finance experience a plus.
Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and database applications, such as Excel and Access. Ability to use and create Advanced Excel Formulas and Pivot Tables is preferred.
Cognos reporting experience preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to make presentations, lead teams, prepare reports etc.
Must have excellent organizational and analytical skills as well as strong interpersonal skills to effectively participate in problem identification and resolution.
Advanced budget preparation and budget analysis skills needed to ensure comprehensive management of divisional budgets, expenditures, and related activities.
Excellent project management skills.
