We are recruiting for a Research Data Scientist to join Kindred Rehabilitation Services in St. Louis, MIssouri.
This position is part of the KRS Market Research Department. As part of this team, the scientist will develop reports and data tools to support rehabilitation services operations, clinical enhancements, and business development. In addition to the technical expertise requirements, this position will be expected to contribute to problem solving and the success of both the team and division. Experience interacting with health care professionals and relating data and analytics to health care practice and delivery is required.
The Research Data Scientist is an expert at finding patterns in data and telling stories through original visualizations. The analyst enjoys collaborative development, brainstorming, and creating innovative data reporting solutions to improve value in healthcare. The analyst is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and intellectually curious. The scientist is committed to continual learning for expansion of rehabilitation services, operational efficiency, and patient care experience improvement.
Ability to convey complex concepts to business stakeholders in terms relevant to them
Keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-based environment
History of progressive skill development
Comfortable understanding abstract questions, honing the concepts at hand into specific questions, and triangulating them with data from a variety of sources
Experience analyzing commercial, Medicare, or Medicaid claims, a plus
Experience writing and presenting data summaries to diverse audiences
Advance Excel (VBA is highly preferred, but not required)
Intermediate Python for data preparation and automation, utilizing tensorflow for advanced statistical analysis such as regression, clustering and machine learning
Familiarity with SQL
A working knowledge of industry coding (ICD10, MS-DRG, CPT codes, etc.)
A working knowledge of industry terms and medical terminology a plus.
Ability to train other team members and colleagues, as needed
Bachelor's degree in Business or Information Systems, Management; Master's degree preferred
2+ years designing and implementing data dashboards and visualizations in Qlikview or Tableau
2+ years interpreting data models data dictionaries, and complex queries
2+ years of recent and relevant employment experience
Depending on Candidate's qualifications, we may fill this position at a different level.
