We are excited to be recruiting a Senior Writer, Medical who is passionate about combining clinical fluency with communications expertise at one of the nation’s leading cancer centers. The incumbent will be a key member of the Editorial & Content team, helping to drive the strategic goals of the Departments of Medicine and Surgery, and other areas as required.
Reporting to our Senior Director, Editorial, you will:
Research, write, gather, organize, and edit content on behalf of the Chairs of the Departments of Medicine and Surgery.
Partner with Chairs of the Departments of Medicine and Surgery and Division Heads/Vice Chairs to understand strategic priorities, relevant information and updates, and current initiatives, and develop/adapt messaging tailored to various clinical audiences and intended for various communications channels.
In addition to clinical communications and newsletters, may write speeches and remarks, talking points for media appearances and events, social media content, decks and presentations, and other content.
Implement a regular cadence, format, and content-planning process for internal updates to Departments of Medicine and Surgery staff.
Measure and report on content effectiveness as it pertains to the goals of the Departments of Medicine and Surgery
7-10 years of experience in medical or science writing, ideally with experience in-house at healthcare, research, or life sciences institutions; and/or in media.
Experience with executive communications; writing in support of and on behalf of executive-level leadership preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to present complex subject matter in clear, understandable terms.
A collaborative spirit, solution-oriented mindset, and the ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders
The ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and deliver work on deadline.
