The Sr. Benefit Analyst is responsible for the administration of employee benefits for Fairview. Responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, COBRA, and voluntary benefits. Assists employees with benefits enrollment and questions and maintains the My Fairview Benefits benefit administration platform.
This is a mobile position which requires working both remotely and on-site.
Provides deep technical knowledge in an area or areas of benefits expertise including health and welfare, retirement and time off.
Partners with Benefit team to facilitate the integration of all benefit programs into a Total Rewards philosophy and program design.
In collaboration with the Benefit Manager, understands the strategic business needs and helps integrate these needs into benefit plan designs and programs. Understands employee needs and preferences and integrates these into benefit plan designs and programs.
Researches and monitors best practice and what is competitive in the marketplace. Initiates or participates in surveys as requested.
Makes recommendations for current program changes by working collaboratively with other benefits staff and other human resource partners.
As a part of the Benefits team, analyzes the effectiveness of existing benefit plans and create options for changes or new programs that support strategic business needs and cost efficiency.
Identifies and researches legal issues and regulation changes and monitors compliance.
Responsible for internal audits of benefit programs and administration.
Provides direction and support to ESC staff for difficult issue resolution.
Resolves employee questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures.
Expedites delivery of benefits by establishing and maintaining working relationships with benefit providers.
Reconciles benefits accounts by approving billing statements.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Bachelors degree in human resources, finance, business or related field
5 years healthcare benefits experience
Strong analytical and technical skills
Strong critical thinking skills
Ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational processes
Knowledge and experience in Employment Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) regulatory compliance, Summary Material Modifications, Summary Plan Descriptions, Plan Documents and Non-Discrimination Testing to ensure compliance with various regulations
