SUMMARY: Hills and Dales General Hospital is seeking for a high energy, innovated Chief Financial Officer for our 25-bed critical access hospital. The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, direct, and control all financial functions within the health system and related entities. Must work with and through others to obtain objectives. In addition to direct line authority, the CFO is expected to serve as an administrative team member, and in collaboration with co-officers contribute to the continuous improvement of overall hospital and health system objectives by displaying exemplary leadership, team building and organizational skills.
Develop and implement policies, standards, procedures, and programs that support effective financial systems throughout hospital and health service operations and comply with required hospital, accrediting, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure the efficient, economic, and quality performance of assigned departments to support quality health care services.
In conjunction and cooperation with service management and directors, develop and coordinate annual budget preparation and monthly budget reporting and analysis system.
In conjunction with the CEO, review, analyze and make recommendations regarding all third party payer contracts.
Manage and facilitate teamwork; hold people accountable to common goals, to accomplish tasks, and to work together.
Develop and implement budgeting, financial reporting, reimbursement, and management information systems to ensure the accurate and timely monitoring and reporting of financial information; to maintain proper records; and to afford adequate accounting controls and services. Communicate effectively across all departments.
Review, interpret, and analyze financial performance indicators in order to prepare timely and accurate updates to governance, senior management and department directors that accurately report on operating performance and the hospital's financial position.
Plan and manage the hospital's funds, investments, and other capital assets to maximize cash flow and return on investment.
Oversee preparation and maintenance of department reports; prepare periodic reports for management and governance as required.
Establish and maintain effective communications with medical staff, the community, and all levels of supervision and staff; participate in hospital/medical staff committees as required; develop appropriate professional liaisons.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Master’s (MBA or MHA) degree or Certified Professional Accountant (C.P.A.) is preferred
Minimum of 5 – 7 years of financial management experience in the health care setting.
Prior CAH experience is preferred.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from diverse groups: Customers, financial institutions, governance, managers, physicians, and staff.
