Job Summary Reporting to the SVP, Supply Chain Services, the VP, Supply Chain and Sourcing is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the integrated supply chain functions for Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH), which may include supply chain management, strategic sourcing, procurement, logistics, bio-medical services, vendor management, supply chain technology, and other supply chain program areas.
This role is responsible for the development and implementation of system-wide supply chain strategy, policies, procedures, and practices that meet service and quality standards, manage total costs appropriately, and are aligned with BSWH business objectives. Directs and coordinates the distribution of procured supplies and equipment throughout the organizational areas of responsibility. Focuses on continuous improvement of the flow and movement of equipment, supplies, and materials through the BSWH supply chain and directs regular studies on service efficiency, key performance metrics, cost effectiveness, and benchmarks for supply chain planning and forecasting. Collaborates with leadership in procurement, logistics, HTM operations, finance, and other departments to drive improvement in supply chain management processes within area of responsibility and across BSWH system. Ensures compliance with all safety, legal, and regulatory requirements impacting BSWH supply chain programs, processes, and operations.
The VP, Supply Chain and Sourcing works with individuals and groups within and outside the organization to develop and manage strategies and tactics designed to improve the strategic direction, positioning, and performance of Supply Chain for BSWH and its affiliated organizations.
Executive responsibility for BSWH's regional and facility supply chain operations, procurement, and sourcing functions
Develops and implements best in class supply chain operations, sourcing and procurement processes, optimizing efficiency by utilizing KPI-driven performance metrics.
Advises on the development and implementation of best in class data management and data integrity policies and procedures related to BSWH's products and services.
Works cooperatively with executive, clinical and operational teams to procure products and services that provide the best clinical outcomes at the lowest cost.
Develops annual supply expense cost reduction programs and BSWH budgets to reflect the impact of the programs
Sets Supply Chain policies and standards
Develops and maintains relationships with industry peers and experts as well as throughout the organization
Develops operational and strategic initiatives; and implements strategies in all consolidated corporate services.
Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
Key Success Factors
Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
7+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Sourcing, Procurement, or related field.
3+ years of leadership experience preferred.
World class supplier relationship skills
Strategic ability to develop high-impact procurement strategies
Analytic ability to understand and define most critical issues (total cost of ownership, make vs lease vs buy, NPV, ROI)
Strong negotiating skills based on a thorough understanding of sales/marketing practices
Materials management, systems management or procurement with demonstrated success in Integrating systems, data integrity and data management, transforming raw data to usable information, high volume operations, and/or lowering acquisition cost.
Bachelor’s Degree or at least 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
