Manages activities to support systems, applications, and reporting that are essential to the core business processes for the Health Plan. Identify, document and support implementation of efficient business solutions. This includes gathering business requirements, facilitating business workgroups, and interfacing with Health Plan and corporate as well as other departments.
WHAT IS EXPECTED (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Coordinate and facilitate process improvement initiatives, new product implementations as well as system upgrades from administrative and other idea source areas.
Develop, document, and provide ongoing management of the department standard operating procedures relative to maintaining and supporting department applications and/or system.
Meet with department subject matter experts and decision makers to gather and develop operational requirements for the purpose of improving on general business processes and document business requirements.
Act as Subject Matter Expert for processes, new projects and implementations, upgrade to current systems and products.
Diagnose problems and find solutions to meet user requirements.
Facilitate business workgroups for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations and information process flow.
Responsible for sharing and incorporating organizational best practices into business applications.
Act as liaison between business owners, end users and the MIS solution team.
Utilize internal/external sources to collect information and create written reports and visual representations for presentation and dissemination.
Analyze and understand business problems for the unit Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing processes with expertise and check processes.
Ensure that business requirements are traceable and testable.
Perform other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Experience in business analysis and the ability to make effective business decisions Proficient with PC based systems including: Microsoft Excel, Access, Project, PowerPoint, Visio and the ability to learn new information systems and software programs Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required Proficient verbal and written communication Excellent business and technical writing skills Ability to work well within a team environment and on independent projects Bachelors degree in Business or Finance; or equivalent combination of education and experience in managed care operations and/or business processes
