At a regional and/or system level, the Manager of Contract Performance is responsible for managing the success of contract performance by ensuring quality and utilization measures are met. Oversees, designs and recommends strategies intended to improve contract performance, decrease cost and improve quality of care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, oversees the design, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of innovative, multidisciplinary approaches to quality, utilization management, systems improvement and outcomes measurement resulting in improved contract performance.
Significantly contributes to or leads regional and/or system performance initiatives (e.g., contract performance) by analyzing and interpreting quality and utilization management issues, reviewing clinical documentation, identifying trends, and recommending process changes, staff training, or other appropriate mitigating factors in response to contract or regulatory requirements.
Oversees the creation of contract program tools, reporting and resources (e.g., EMR enhancements, workflow enhancements, etc.) and standardization of education materials.
Leads the design and communication of quality and utilization performance requirements to enhance contract performance.
Acts as a trusted change agent and subject matter expert (SME) related to contract performance and a liaison to multidisciplinary teams and internal/external stakeholders.
Manages assigned staff which includes accountability for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, orientation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Seven years of experience in the healthcare industry
Project/Program management and process/quality improvement experience required
Solution oriented and demonstrates flexibility in problem solving, using collaborative techniques to identify performance problems and implement solutions
Able to influence others to a particular point of view using business logic, data, and experience
Able to present a professional product to multiple levels of leadership including senior leadership
Must be highly skilled in analytical reasoning, interpreting, and evaluating data and complex information
Able to quickly establish professional and cooperative relationships with multidisciplinary team members
Able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment and communicate assignments and due dates in a clear, professional and concise manner
Strong critical thinking skills with ability to exercise sound judgement
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Skill in the use of computers and related software
