Position Summary: This Advanced Level position supports enterprise Business Intelligence in the deployment of highly complex and cross-functional enterprise-wide Epic Cogito Business Intelligence solutions. This position is focused on the Epic Cogito Suite of reporting tools including Slicer Dicer, Reporting Workbench, Radar, Caboodle, and Clarity. This position takes direction from the Manager of Business Intelligence and performs requirements analysis, designs, develops, deploys, supports and maintains reporting and analytical or business intelligence applications using a variety of data sources to support enterprise objectives for quality process improvement and waste reduction. The responsibilities include but are not limited to, data analysis and management reporting, utilizing software to generate metrics, data discovery applications, dashboards and scorecards. Provides training and support to team members and other groups in the design, development and deployment of analytical applications. This position is also responsible for consulting services, which includes communications and presentations to work groups, management, executives and steering committees. Includes corroboration with the Portfolio Manager in the coordination of project work with colleagues in data collection, extraction, validation and implementation of Business Intelligence solutions pertinent to improvement initiatives. The Sr. BI Developer will be the liaison between end users, Business Intelligence and IS in support of organizational initiatives related to clinical, cost and patient satisfaction outcomes. This position requires a highly motivated, self-directing individual with strong analytical skills, a positive attitude, attention to detail, and high degree of flexibility in a rapidly changing environment. Off-hours and weekends may be required to resolve emergency issues, during implementation and maintenance activities, and during 24x7 on-call rotations.
Minimum Requirements: Progressively responsible experience in Computer Systems related field 7+ years experience in enterprise and business information system development, solution engineering, project management, and information application design and development 7 years experience in development of BI strategies and associated policies and selection of capabilities and systems to meet business information needs 7 years of experience in an analytics or development setting (data analysis/data visualization, graphic design, working with translating data into effective visualization); healthcare industry experience preferred Experience in leading technical work across multiple technology teams preferred Expert knowledge of data warehouse concepts Familiarity with open source software frameworks such as Hadoop, including for use with web and mobile application development. Experience in project management techniques and support technology, applications, programs and services Experience with healthcare systems such as Epic, Business Objects, and interfaces in hospitals and/or clinic settings or with a healthcare system vendor preferred.
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Technical bachelors degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics or advanced technical equivalent certifications and experience. Advance degree preferred. Certified in at least one Epic data model Current Washington State Drivers License
