We are excited to launch recruitment for the Vice President, Enterprise Communication within the Marketing and Communication team. This is a unique opportunity to lead internal communication and ensure workforce at one of the nations premier comprehensive cancer centers is informed, engaged and inspired. We are seeking an experienced, creative, and innovative leader to build a best-in-class evidence-based enterprise communication infrastructure and team.
As a key member of the MSK Marketing and Communication team, you will work closely with other M&C leaders as well as clinical and administrative teams, Human Resources, Operations, Government Affairs, and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Community Affairs teams to ensure coordinated communication efforts with the goal of driving disciplined internal communication and employee engagement.
Reporting to the VP of Strategic Communication, you will:
Build a team of communication professionals responsible for all internal and executive communication activities across MSK. Additionally, you will work to optimize integration across the team and plan for the deployment of messaging/communication that can be effectively targeted to defined audiences through multiple channels to achieve department goals and support institutional initiatives. Specifically:
- Assess current internal communication infrastructure and build a best-in-class, modern communication infrastructure that enables timely targeted, effective, measurable communication to all constituents.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with leadership, senior clinicians, directors, managers, and staff throughout the organization to direct the execution of internal communication messaging and initiatives.
- Run regular leadership and management meetings.
- Develop and evaluate short and long-term goals and accomplishments for the Enterprise Communication team.
- Recruit, train, and mentor staff, identifying opportunities for growth and staff development.
- Participate in institutional committees, representing M&C and providing communication expertise.
You have:
- 10+ years of dynamic leadership experience in communication; healthcare or agency exposure strongly desired
- Demonstrated skills in managing, motivating, and supporting staff with proven results in building a collaborative team that drives impact.
- Track record of developing strong relationships of trust and confidence with senior leaders, peers, and colleagues. Ability to collaborate, influence, and effectively engage with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of internal communication best practices, industry trends, and direction.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate, build, and foster a positive environment of teamwork and collaboration
- Strategic communication planning, analysis, writing, and producing communication plans and materials.
- Exceptional judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential issues.
- Deep understanding of digital communication strategies, new media, and analytics platforms.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
