The role you’ll contribute:
Neurology Services Coordinator/ Educator major function is to assess and analysis the neurological service programs data and outcomes. Through an ongoing assessment develop continuous improvements for a highly reliable, more efficient, and better patient outcome.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
- Facilitates the development of the Neurology program through teaching, coaching, and role modeling. Assists with the on-boarding, training and professional development of staff.
- Educates patients and their families regarding clinical aspects of their disease, purpose, and nature of treatment and research protocols. Educates patients and their families on device and device-related equipment providing reinforcement on how to care for themselves and provides feedback on their progress
- Pro-actively initiates quality improvement ideas and suggestions in an effort to improve the patient experience of care (including quality and satisfaction), improve the health of the populations served and reduce the cost of clinic care. Actively participates in surveys (on-site and desktop) from regulatory and licensing agencies.
- Assists with discharge planning with the multi-disciplinary team, plans, and implements and evaluates patient and family-specific care appropriate to the complexity of the problems and resources available.
- Actively participates in neurological equipment and device accessory management
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, AND
· Valid AHA Advanced life support certification (ACLS, PALS, NRP) per specialty/unit requirements.
· High level of Neurological knowledge base.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Two years of Neurology/ Stroke ICU experience
· Bachelors of Science in Nursing
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· Master of Science in Nursing
· CNRN/ SCRN
· One year of teaching/preceptor experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Florida Registered Nurse License
