ResponsibilitiesThe Director, Perioperative Business Operations coordinates and evaluates the operational and financial management activities of Perioperative Services, supports change processes, leads/participates in new and existing program development with staff input and feedback, monitors operational metrics and collaborates with other managers to address process changes, improve operations, and reduce costs. Develops business goals that align with department/ organizational goals and hospital’s mission. Identifies issues, presents strategies, and acts as a change agent to resolve business issues.
The Director, Perioperative Business Operations is responsible for expense and capital budget preparation and monitoring; patient charges review/research, contract management, project management, perioperative data reporting, procedural/surgical case scheduling; and implant/equipment procurement in conjunction with Procurement & Strategic Sourcing and Material Management.
The Director, Perioperative Business Operations Leads/participates in cost reduction strategies, supports the Perioperative Services leadership team; mine data and develop/present reports; and facilitate data-based decision making. Participates in goal setting and achievement assuring alignment with organizational goals and Hospital mission.
QualificationsDemonstrated strategic planning, leadership, and visionary skills to execute short- and long-term strategic goals, and the skill to plan, organize, coordinate, direct, control and evaluate the delivery of efficient, cost-effective services in an academic/clinical environment.
Comprehensive and thorough understanding of all elements of health care delivery, including strategy, business planning, operations, and financial conditions.
Generates and encourages creative ideas, innovative thinking and imaginative solutions to issues or problems. Is able and willing to solve problems from various points of view and make difficult decisions.
Analytical skills to assess information, define problems, formulate logical conclusions, develop alternative solutions, and implement recommendations that optimize patient satisfaction, faculty and employee engagement, revenue, and long-term strategic growth.
Full understanding of, and ability to effectively respond to, elements that drive competitive advantage under dynamic conditions, such as health care industry changes, competitor actions, legal/regulatory changes, and technological trends.
Demonstrated skill in financial planning, budget preparation, fiscal monitoring, and control and administration of multi-million-dollar budgets.
Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills.

MBA, MHA, or MHSA required. Minimum five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare business operations. Minimum two (2) years of experience in data management, data analytics and report building 1 to 2 years of experience utilizing electronic health records.
Preferred: Perioperative business operations experience
