Description

SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Supports Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software related to patient care delivery, registration, scheduling and billing. Partners with clinical, revenue cycle, and operational support staff to develop, implement and maintain software solutions to support optimal care delivery and healthcare operations.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

???Technical support
Provide direct technical support and second and third-level problem resolution assistance. Adhere to compliance requirement with all applicable state and federal regulations. Assist in the identification and resolution of application problems. Work closely with other Epic and IS teams as well as outside vendors to ensure proper system functionality. Identify or develop alternate resolutions to problems where appropriate, considering available resources, historical precedents and consequences of implementation. Utilize appropriate Issue Management and Change Control methods to implement system solutions. Support departmental efforts to improve customer satisfaction. Evaluate and monitor system performance and functionality to avoid potential issues.

???Project management
Participate in developing project plans and putting plans into action. Function as liaison to other CCHMC departments for assigned projects. Independently prioritize assigned tasks and projects based upon directives from supervisor or customers. Coordinate and facilitate communication between internal and external parties on project/tasks related issues and developments. Independently works with cross functional teams.

???Medication expertise
Apply medication and related system expertise to the development, analysis and implementation of enterprise-wide clinical system projects. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of CCHMC pharmacy operations, policies and procedures through a close relationship with pharmacy department administration and staff. Build and maintain medication and related files to ensure medications can be safely ordered, dispensed and administered. Analyze end user needs for developing and modifying systems to meet departmental requirements and Ohio Board of Pharmacy requirements. Work closely with end users to define objectives and outputs of proposed systems in accordance with departmental procedures. Plan and conduct system testing. Write test scripts. Analyze and resolve complex system issues through work all Epic support teams. Develop and implement new functionality that improves clinical care delivery and patient safety. Document issues/projects in applicable issue tracking application, updating in a timely manner and as appropriate.

???Technical support
Ensure outstanding end-user support is provided, including ongoing monitoring of Service Level Agreements for incident management and collaboration with other areas to ensure customer-centered incident management and support. Adhere to and promote continual adoption of change management policies and procedures. Model outstanding customer service behavior, including timely and effective follow-up with customers.

???Technical communication
Maintain currency in field through continuing education, literature and seminars. Participate in establishing job requirements and goals; perform duties at the desired level of competency. Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas or approaches for improvement activities, performing new procedures, collecting data, and providing input to department discussions. Serve as representative on various hospital committees when assigned. Attend pharmacy department meetings upon request. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Actively Registered Pharmacist

???2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline
