About the Opportunity
Traditional 'come to us' healthcare is inconvenient, complex, and cumbersome for consumers. BSWH is redesigning care around the consumer to be convenient, simple, and easy to use. The changing nature of consumer expectations and market disruption in healthcare has led to BSWH introducing convenient in-home care options that empower consumers to take control of their health. The Consumer Home team is an integral part of Baylor Scott & White Health’s strategy to revolutionize healthcare. The team is designed to elevate BSWH as a leader in healthcare innovation. Our primary goal is to work backwards from the customer to identify pain points, design innovative solutions that bring care into the home, and iterate on our programs to strive for continual improvements to the customer experience.
The Lead Product Manager (LPM) for Consumer Home will serve as the product manager of a product or portfolio of products centered around care delivered at the home. They are responsible for the product development and delivery of the prioritized features in their roadmap backlog. Close collaboration with the Portfolio Leader is required to understand the features’ scope to define the product requirements for consumption by their product team. The LPM will lead large, complex products and develop expertise in the operational processes, technology, relevant stakeholders tied to their product.
A successful candidate will have a strong bias for action, the ability to operate independently, work with many cross functional teams, is comfortable analyzing and interpreting data, and is detail oriented. This is a highly visible role that requires partnering with multiple stakeholder groups, including various clinical and operational teams, and specifically close collaboration with technical teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Work with a team of Subject Matter Experts to gather/establish requirements for clinical and operational programs requiring digitally enabled tools.
- Work closely with cross-functional product team of software development engineers, UX researchers, UI designers to design, develop, implement, and support new features and products that meet the company’s objectives.
- Effectively delegate team tasks to junior product managers when appropriate for workload balance and professional development.
- Prioritize new uses cases against existing user stories, setting delivery expectations, and manage inbound feature requests.
- Collaborate with Lead Technical Architect to conduct effective feature scoping
- Obsess about the customer’s needs and lead product team to deliver optimal user experiences.
- Manage complex cross-functional projects/goals. Accelerates progress by driving timely decisions. Able to spot risks, ask the right questions. Clears blockers, escalates appropriately. Makes trade-offs: time vs. quality vs. resources.
- Manage cross-team dependencies (e.g. negotiate with other product teams with dependencies and to prioritize cross cutting work).
- Understand and develop mechanisms to acquire and track lead & lag metrics for products. Consistently iterate on product design to achieve metrics.
- Conduct all human resources related activities, inclusive of interviews, supervision, performance evaluations, development, coaching, feedback, reward and recognition, scheduling, leaves, policy and procedure admin, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION - Bachelors or Equivalent Exp
- EXPERIENCE - A minimum of 5 years experience required
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management, Marketing, Management Information Systems, or other related fields of study.
- Relevant experience in healthcare technology transformation, product management, or consumer product development organizations.
- Experience managing daily project communications and participating in executive communication reports and/or business presentations.
- Experience developing product requirements documents from product overview documents (e.g. PRFAQs) for a product team to refine into user stories.
- Experience with commitment towards goals and outcomes and to ensure Customer Experience metrics are maintained.
- Excellent communication skills across all channels: verbal, written, visual presentations.
- Proven experience evaluating and partnering with 3rd party vendors to deliver on scopes of work for portfolio of features.
