The
Employee Relations Consultant serves clients and HR as subject matter experts, collaborates and consults to ensure efficient and effective resolution of high level, high-risk matters. Focuses on education, compliance, policy creation and data analysis to promote a positive employee experience. Uses employee relations concepts and applies policies and procedures to resolve a variety of complex employee relations issues and situations.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES???Program Development and ImplementationProvide leadership for the planning, designing and implementation of employee relations programs. Implement and manage new and existing programs. Effectively organize work, establish priorities, identify resource requirements, and coordinate with internal partners. Determine and develop plans for achieving the long and short term goals of programs and projects. Serve as an integral member of project teams to facilitate process improvement activities. Collaborate with others to implement and evaluate departmental or organization wide project plans. Accurately report tasks and status to project lead.
???InvestigationsConduct high level, thorough and intensive investigations in a neutral manner that represents the employee, management and the institution. Expert ability to ask effective questions, using inductive and deductive reasoning. Excellent verbal, written and/or interpersonal communication skills.
???ConsultationProvide expert consultation and guidance to employees, management and HR partners in the interpretation of HR policies, procedures, programs and application of related laws and regulations. Ensure efficient and effective resolution of high level, high-risk matters. Partner with HRBPs to understand the business direction based on current CCHMC Strategic Plan; Develop, maintain and deliver effective communication to managers and employees. Identify and recommend strategies to address current and future employee relations needs.
???Policies and GovernanceKeep abreast of changes in the field of employee relations and compliance. Practice utilizing consistent and standardized processes. Recommend changes to policies and practices to respond to regulatory changes, environmental changes, and changes due to advancements in the field of Human Resources. Interpret policies and counsel regarding responsibilities and rights of CCHMC employees; proactively identify, manage and facilitate the equitable resolution of job-related complaints and concerns; and conduct internal investigations and report findings as appropriate. Ensure consistent practices/decision making in ER within work group in order to mitigate risk and promote a professionally ethical work environment. Identify, analyze, and provide effective conflict resolution practices employees. Identify and recommend strategies to address current and future employee relations needs.
???Data and AnalysisProvide and consistently document decisions in keeping with best practices and to minimize risk in employee relations situations. Complete encounter or investigation documentation in a timely fashion. Assist in the preparation of required and supporting documentation for: unemployment claims, conflict resolution claims, federal and state agency claims and employment related litigation. Assist in measuring, assessing and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of employee relations services. Analyze employee relations data to identify trends and offer solutions to effectively manage problematic trends. Assist in internal audits of employee relations issues and make recommendations to resolve issues in accordance with policies, practices, and procedures.
QualificationsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired: - Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 5 - 7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
Unique Skills: - Experience in conducting high-level investigations.
