The Manager of Communications & Public Relations (CPR), along with CPR leadership will guide the strategy for communications, public relations and media messages to maintain the brand voice and integrity across all platforms. The manager is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic communication plans to build brand equity through strategic planning and streamlining of internal communications, including physician communication, lead strategy for MemorialCare Medical Foundation communications and non-integrated hospital service line initiatives, along with implementing a system-wide strategy for annual reports
The manager is responsible for leading editorial planning, training, mentoring and developing specialists, creating a department culture conducive to high-performance. Along with specialist Is, the manager will identify stories (patient, clinical advancement, etc.) to feature in various communication channels to help engage key stakeholders
The primary intent of initiatives will be to build brand awareness and the reputation of MemorialCare and its executive teams within its primary and secondary service areas, as well as nationally within the industry of healthcare. The manager, will forge positive relationships with key MemorialCare constituencies and alongside the vice president and director, serves as public information officer, and advisor on media matters.
Principal Responsibilities & Collaboration Efforts:
- Collaborates with the director of Communications & Public Relations, and service line marketing peers to develop and implement communications and media relations plans for MemorialCare entities in the MemorialCare brand voice
- Ability to think strategically, understand and lead strategic communication plan development for MCMF and specific entity service lines seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media
- Provides consistent and timely information to employees and physicians through various internal communication vehicles.
- Oversees, writes, edits and manages production of communication materials (including but not limited to presentations/scripts, collateral, newsletters, annual report, etc.) targeting internal and external audiences, including CEO communications.
- Detail oriented and exhibits commitment to high quality work
- Demonstrates ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders and provides support as advisor in communications/public relations matters.
- Responds to issues in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates ability to lead and supervise work of CPR team members in setting expectations to meet the goals and objectives of the strategic communications initiatives.
- Oversees planning for and leading weekly editorial planning meeting
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests; rotates role as media on-call representative along with CPR vice president and director
- Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a monthly basis
- Oversees planning and communications of events that are not service-line or brand lead, as defined by the marketing/communications/outreach teams.
- Ensures Philanthropic Foundation and other materials are consistent with brand voice.
- Maintains knowledge of the marketplace and the hospital’s competitive position.
- Manage projects assigned to consultants engaged in public relations activities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and time lines and work in a deadline driven environment
- Maintains close collaboration and participation in MemorialCare brand/digital, service line and B2B/outreach marketing initiatives.
