The role you’ll contribute:
The Education Coordinator Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing clinical expertise in home care to optimize patient/family, nurse and system outcomes and is responsible for the management of the development and delivery of the internal educational programs for the organization including orientation and continuing education.

- Provides direction for the education activities, services, programs, and plans for the home care program.
- Develops, updates and recommends the policies and procedures for delivery of educational training and orientation to staff and volunteers to comply with mandated regulations and organizational goals.
- Monitors and evaluates clinical practice and identifies growth needs of the clinical staff. Implements and evaluates a plan to address clinical staff, growth and development needs through continuing education training to clinical staff and as mandated by the state, federal government and the organization as a requirement for employment. Coordinates guest instructors when training focus is outside the educators’ expertise.
- Identifies problematic systems/process issues, develops plans to improve and monitors outcomes. Develops/implements process improvement and/or clinical best practice initiatives at the organizational and department level. Acts as a change agent, evaluates environment for change readiness and develops and implements plans for change using research and evidence based practice. Monitors change driven outcomes.
- Serves as the educational resource to management team and participates to assess procedure, technique and quality and develops and implements plans for process improvement.
- Ensures proper and timely orientation of all new staff.
- Tracks and maintains accurate records of the courses taken by individual staff members and report compliance to licensing authorities as required.
- Demonstrates nursing leadership through publication, research, consultation, presentation or clinical practice.
- Maintains clinical competency and performs visits as needed.
- Participates in staff meetings, department meetings, in services and other related activities.
- Attends educational and developmental seminars and meetings, as deemed appropriate.
- Maintains membership of and participates in applicable home care-related and professional organizations.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Master’s degree in training and development or related field is required.
- A minimum of 7 years in training and development or related field is required.
- A clear/active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Maintain a current, valid Florida Driver's License in good standing with a safe driving record and a reliable vehicle.
- Maintain valid personal automobile insurance.
