Overview
Along with the Director, Standards Development and Interpretation, provides clinical guidance to review and analyze international accreditation survey reports, strategic improvement plans, and monitoring process with accredited organizations. In conjunction with the JCIA Leadership Team, ensures that surveyed organizations receive excellent customer service and that their accreditation needs are met. Assists with surveyor management and development initiatives, as assigned. Prepares accreditation review materials and council reports when applicable. Provides program specific knowledge and information to internal and external customers and staff.
Responsibilities
- Validates international accreditation survey reports to assure appropriate scoring, interpretation of standards, and edits reports for clarity and consistency.
- Processes challenges submitted by surveyed organizations to the survey findings reports through open communication and clarification with the survey team, in conjunction with JCIA leadership, and JCIA council as appropriate.
- Provides clinical analysis of strategic improvement plans submitted by international health care organizations to assess reported compliance progress.
- Assists the JCIA Leadership Team in developing long and short-term goals and plans for ensuring that surveyed organizations receive the full continuum of accreditation service.
- Assists Account Management Team with clinical questions or issues associated with survey applications and survey scoping.
- Assists Account Management Team with the process for receiving reports from organizations of any changes in the organization's profile or information
- Works with JCIA Leadership Team in identifying when follow-up survey is required for surveys that had been completed based on JCI accreditation decision rules and relevant policies.
- Support initiatives from the quality and patient safety department such as development of quality and benchmarking reports for JCI accredited organizations.

- Supports the development and revision of the standards, survey process, scoring guidelines, and aggregation and decision rules for all JCI accreditation programs.
- Participates in the development of policies and procedures related to the accreditation decision making process. Assists in acting as a resource to internal and external audiences for information concerning international accreditation policies.
- Supports ISQua accreditation for JCI Accreditation.
- Represents the Joint Commission International to customers as well as public and professional organizations. Participates in committees, task forces, and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in clinical healthcare program or equivalent healthcare work experience. Master's preferred.
- 3-5 years in healthcare accreditation and/or quality experience.
- Knowledge of The Joint Commission or Joint Commission International policies, standards, survey, and accreditation processes helpful, but not required.
- 3-5 years of project management experience with the ability to plan, organize, and implement activities for a diverse staff.
- Highly effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills to interact with individuals at various levels both inside and outside of the organization, sometimes in sensitive situations.
- Ability to travel domestics and internationally as requested to observe surveys or participate in selected conference activities.
- Organized and detailed oriented, capable of handling multiple priorities, and working independently.
- Excellent computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software. Familiarity with web based and video communication capability preferred. Public speaking ability preferred.
- Foreign language skills are an asset.
