Position Summary:The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Associate-Simulation Operations Specialist is responsible for coordination of day-to-day operations of the simulation centers at MultiCare Health System with direction from NPD Simulation Specialist, Simulation Program Manager (PM) and Simulation Director. The incumbent oversees the preparation, maintenance, inventory and operation of all simulation equipment/supplies and collaborates with simulation team to plan, implement and schedule simulation activities. The Sim NPD Associate ensures adherence to program policies, course objectives, program outcomes and current simulation best practice and safety measures in the simulations he/she/they facilitate. The incumbent will also collaborate with the team to effectively capture simulation data and metrics. This position operates with limited independence; this position is expected to consult with the NPD Simulation Specialist and/or Simulation PM to prioritize work assignments regarding daily work. Work situations are varied with an emphasis on facilitating simulated educational activities, scheduling activities and associated equipment/space, maintaining equipment upkeep and sustaining processes that are in alignment with Society for Simulation in Healthcare criteria for accreditation. This includes, but not limited to, data management, technology, educational design, accreditation documentation and professional writing, research, program management, customer relations, standardization, communication, organization, prioritization, flexibility and creativity. This position has extensive internal contact with department staff, nursing leaders and staff, physician leaders and MHS administration. External contacts include outside agencies, organizations, vendors and other entities that influence department objectives. Minimum Requirements:Two (2) years related experience in a technology or production-related field such as Computer Science, Management Information Technology, or Film Required. ORTwo (2) years related experience in nursing or other healthcare discipline or medical technology required.Knowledge of general medical terminology and human anatomy/physiology preferred.Education/Licenses/Certifications:Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferredCertified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) preferred.Commitment to obtain CHSOS certification within two years of hire date required.
