Atlantic Medical Group is seeking a full-time intern for the Workers Compensation Operation Team. In this role, the intern will work alongside a team of innovative professionals and contribute to Atlantic's mission of delivering excellent healthcare services to our communities. The intern's responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Act as a liaison between Worker's Compensation Program and external vendors (such as: outpatient facilities, insurance companies, Managed Care Organizations, etc.)
Obtain authorizations for visits and testing to communicate to point person
Will manage phone calls, schedule/confirm appointments, enter demographics, insurance coverages & patient information
Compile and distribute any reports as requested by the WC companies
Gather information from visits and submit to the claims' adjusters
Assist in De-escalation of what can be tense situations
Work alongside team on operational projects such as expanding knowledge of staff education, risk mitigation, etc.
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a full-time accredited public or private College/University
Ideally pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a similarly related field
Be in good academic standing
US Citizen or permanent resident
Work 37.5 hours per week and commit to a minimum of 375 hours for the duration of the internship
Coursework and/or experience with data analysis
Experience utilizing software such as: Power BI, SQL, Tableau, etc.
Excel proficiency preferred
