Position Summary: The OB Tech is responsible for preparing the OB operating rooms for cesarean sections and other special procedures; ensure a sterile environment in the OR; assisting the provider as needed during operative procedures; and preparing the surgical instruments to be taken to sterile processing. In addition, the OBT can be of assist to the nurse and provider during a vaginal delivery as well as recovery of the obstetrical patient. At times, and with proper training, the OBT can be cross-trained to the unit secretary role to properly serve the Women and Childrens Center pod. This position ensures that the ORs and the labor rooms are adequately stocked; orders supplies as needed; and communicates to management the needed for additional supplies and/or instruments in a timely manner. The OB Tech must be able to work function in a quick paced environment and be proactive in maintaining the work environment during times of low census.
Minimum Requirements: Prefer 1 year minimum on one (1) year work experience in OB or in the Operating Room
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Current Washington State Surgical Technician license or obtain within 90 days of hire Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR Certification
