The role you’ll contribute:
The Epic Cogito Business Analyst -Senior, under the direction of the Epic Cogito Business Analyst manager, will be mainly responsible for implementing reporting content and Epic analytics tools. Additionally, they are responsible for the creation of Business requirements, Use Cases, Reports, visualizations, and other forms of information designed to gain insights, monitor key organizational measures with the Epic transition.
Serve as the Epic Cogito Business Analyst (BA) for Corp Analytics department by eliciting requirements and managing testing associated with the project's activities. This position is responsible for coordinating both internal and external resources to achieve project goals and objectives. This position elicits requirements, maintains project documentation, and manages the testing process. The Epic Cogito BA acts as an internal and external liaison for project Epic activities by working to make customer requirements into functional tools.
Collaborates with Technical Architects, Cross-functional teams and developers to build analytics for operational use and other business solutions. This position requires the ability to work effectively with business owners, clinical staff, and other IT teams.

- Works with the Cogito project manager and business intelligence developers ï´¾BIDsï´¿ to identify and develop appropriate solutions for various reporting needs
- Reviews and approves existing Reporting Workbench templates and creates any needed additional templates
- Works with reporting subject matter experts to identify the needs of report consumers
- Works with subject matter experts and business intelligence developers to design specifications for custom report requests
- Designs, implements, and maintains an enterpriseâwide Reporting Workbench and Radar security policy
- Maintains the Cogito Catalog and associated metadata records
- Responsible for setting up inâscope Slicer Dicer data models and working with the BIDs to design custom filters per end user request
- Assists the principal trainer with developing training curriculum and training power reporting users.
- Identifies subject matter experts to attend reporting content design sessions
- Facilitates report content design and establishes report scope and prioritization
- Assists with translation of endâuser workflowâbased report requests to specific data points required for report development
- Facilitates requirements gathering for all extracts
- Builds Radar dashboards for report consumers
- Builds Reporting Workbench reports, templates, and extracts for the application
- Develops reports and dashboards to support clinical and revenue initiatives longâterm
- Creates data for report testing and ensures that all application dashboards and reports are tested
- Ensures that consumers are satisfied with reports and distribution tools
- Performs postâlive volume testing and evaluates overall consumer happiness with reports
- Participates in requirements analysis and verification through peer reviews and inspections of requirements documents, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, verifiable, and that they conform to standards.
- Collaborates with team leads in requirements prioritization and estimation of levels of effort, risk and cost of implementation
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on business functionality and impact of system change in collaboration with developers to recommend an optimal solution that meets or exceeds the business needs and requirements.
- Assure timely and high-quality project deliverables and be accountable for the development and adherence to project time and task schedules for assigned projects.
- Troubleshoot with other technical or functional departments on project activities when necessary.
- Enhances and creates streamlined data models and data integration strategies
- Documents and tests work products and conduct data quality checks on a regular basis
- Works in partnership with the Data Warehouse team and other stakeholders concerning the accuracy of data and efficiency of processes
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Familiarity with Epic reporting tools
- Familiarity with the foundation system reports available for the applications they are working with
- Script in SQL/PL SQL SELECT
- Proficiency with query performance tuning
- Experience in development, testing and implementation of reports and dashboards
- Familiarity with “big data” and analytics
- Good knowledge of coding/development standards and best practices
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of business analysis and requirements elicitation process.
- Knowledge of application development process, testing, and quality assurance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics or similar fields
- 3-4 year experience in development, testing and implementation of reports and dashboards
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

- 4+ year experience in development, testing and implementation of reports and dashboards
- Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics or similar fields
- 1-2 years of experience in Healthcare IT
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- Certification in Epic Training for “cogito Fundamentals” and “Cogito Tools Administration” within 6 months of course start date.
