Expected Starting Salary Range: 45.39 - 57.98 SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Project manager is responsible for leading an entire project through initiation, planning, execution, control, and completion.
This role will partner with investigators to solve research-related data problems. This position will leverage project management and community building expertise to develop a data community where both central and distributed research data professionals can gather, learn and harness existing data processes, workflows and definitions. This position will partner with research data professionals to align on workflow, governance and technology that helps CCHMC better understand where and how data is being used for research purposes, audit this usage when and where appropriate. The Senior Project Manager will serve as a critical evangelist for research data policies, procedure and tools within the organization, working to establish best practice and policy of research-related data activities and educate research data professionals within the research data community.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Improvement Facilitate the process of technology analysis and improvement. Enable groups to define and understand their current technology profile and their future needs. Work with IS technical resources to define technical criteria for selection of vendor solutions and coordinate vendor selection process. Acquire minimal domain knowledge in order to facilitate the identification and understanding of key project requirements and issues. Recruit expert resources to ensure state of the art technology is presented and evaluated.
Project Management Develop expertise in CCHMC's IS project management processes. Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and activities. Facilitate the maintenance of issue lists, build and decision documentation, meeting minutes, agendas, and status reports as well as other tools crucial to project success. Facilitate cross-functional work teams that include internal employees, technical support, operations personnel, vendor consultants, clinicians, hospital administration and end users. Provide regular project updates and status reports for IS management and ensure timely escalation of issues when necessary.
Mentor Provide mentoring for other Implementation Coordinators. Help coordinate the design and refinement of internal processes. Coordinate internal IS activities as needed.
Project Coordination Ensure that the project governance, key stakeholders and teams are kept informed of project process and issues. Manage multidisciplinary discussions to ensure that each group understands the process and technical concerns of the other groups. Work with IS management to coordinate enterprise communication. Workflow Facilitate the process of workflow analysis and improvement. Enable groups to define and understand their current workflows and identify areas for improvement or redesign. Provide clear diagrams of current and future process flow, being able to coordinate analysis of cause and effect of changes. Coordinate appropriate technical/application resources to provide a thorough understanding of synthesis of changes to systems and processes. Understand the complexity of change management in a large academic health care institution and guide groups to evaluate options that are meaningful and possible.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in a related field
5 years of work experience in a related job discipline
