Candidates will be responsible for the solution design, functionality, and user experience for all systems and services that support the development and operation of the Azure platforms. They must build, lead, and mentor a strong cloud-based engineering team to deliver operational excellence and efficiency. The successful candidate will architect and implement secure solutions that align with business needs. We are seeking a hands-on IT leader who will own the system architecture and engage with both IT, and development teams at a technical level.

Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Azure services IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS and coming trends in the Cloud space
Working knowledge of microservices orchestration platform (Service Fabric, Kubernetes)
Experience architecting/operating solutions built on Azure
Experience with architecting with compliance data in mind (PII).
Experience defining and implementing Azure Cloud Governance concerns
Experience with architecting a hybrid cloud environment preferred.
Proven track record of building trusted technical and business relationships with business executives and driving growth in highly strategic or key accounts
Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts, and ensuring follow through
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills leveraging all available resources
Proven working experience in Azure and/or a DevOps role
Ability to assess the requirement, and environment and suggest the right tools/technologies
Good knowledge of PowerShell scripting
Expertise in Debugging and providing solutions and workarounds

Role Purpose
The Solution Architect I assists with designs and implements information systems and networked software architectures that support BJC functions, and ensures their high availability. He/she is committed to the support and development of all technology solution plans, assuring that technology solutions meet business requirements while aligning with long-term architectural goals. The Solution Architect provides technical leadership across BJC IT domains, from assisting with strategic decision making down to the project planning level.
Responsibilities
Understand the high-level system architecture/portfolio, ensure technology decisions relative to specific projects are in line with long term architecture roadmaps, and validate that solutions align with corporate standards and compliance requirements.
Works closely with the Sr. Solution Architect to manage the work of suppliers and internal development teams to articulate the proposed solution architecture and impacts to the current state, and work collaboratively with the Business Engagement team and service delivery personnel to ensure that technical solution proposals are cohesive and support the business needs while integrating all necessary solution components to effect the desired change; assist with the design document development and ensure the detailed solutions are consistent with the solution architecture and underlying intent.
Understands and assists with the architectural review process and engagement (e.g., ARB) to drive discussions regarding necessary modifications to project solution architecture to overcome design challenges or deviations observed in project design.
Develop end-to-end solution processes by providing technical documents and estimates, cost estimations, implementation requirements, and alternative solutions to support the business case, as well as provide any necessary adjustments if re-architecture of solutions does not meet requirements.
Oversee and validate the integration of supplier testing plans, and broker effective communication between suppliers, architects, or other stakeholders to resolve test issues or provide technical support for transitioning projects/changes into production.
